Alpha Enzymes – Scientific Review

Today we’re going to do a full, in depth tear down of the ingredients in Alpha Enzymes. I’ve had about half a dozen emails asking about this product in particular, so I’m really interested to take a look and see what all the hype is about. My goal for this review is to analyze the scientific claims made by Alpha Enzymes to see if it can truly offer the benefits promised on the label. We’ll take a look at three of the individual components inside Alpha Enzymes, and I’ll see if they are all hooey, or if this is the real deal.  Let’s get started!

What is Alpha Enzymes Anyway?

So if you haven’t heard of Alpha Enzymes yet, it’s a 3-in-1 supplement that claims to offer all of the benefits for digestive enzymes, probiotics, and prebiotics – all in one affordable product.

If that is true, this product should help you with:

Food Digestion

Acid Reflux

Gas

Bloating

Indigestion

Sugar cravings

Inflammation

IBS

Crohn’s Disease

Mood swings

Depression

Anxiety

Sluggishness

Foggy Brain

And way more.

My point is, this formula would be like taking a power wash to your microbiome, and then building and regrowing all of the positive microbiomes to replace any bad bacteria that built up. And if we learned anything over the last couple of years, it’s that fixing your gut health can improve and fix an insane number of really common health issues.  So if you suffer from any of the ailments listed above, you’re going to want to read the rest of this review.

As I mentioned before, we’re going to take an in-depth look at the specific ingredients in Alpha Enzymes to find out if they are actually beneficial, starting with the digestive enzymes.

Digestive Enzymes

Digestive Enzymes Are Molecules found throughout the digestive tract that assist in the breakdown of food to easily absorb in the body.  It is common that humans lack, or do not produce enough digestive enzymes to break down food properly – which is why we develop a lot of the gut issues, diseases, and immune deficiencies that are common in todays society.

There are different enzymes that break down different things. For example, Protease breaks down proteins, and Lipase breaks down fat.

The Digestive Enzymes found in the Alpha Enzymes Supplement are:

Amylase (200SKB)

Glucoamylase (2AG)

Lipase (150 FIP)

Protease (500 HUT)

Maltase (30DP)

Cellulase (100 CU)

Bromelain (2 GDU)

Lactase (60 ALU)

Papain (400 TU)

The important thing to note here is that you have what is called full pH coverage. That means there are digestive enzymes here that will break down everything you could possibly eat (so long as you’re eating food, and not weird things.

These Digestive Enzymes aid in the breaking down starch, fats, and proteins – everything – to ensure your food is being turned into healthy energy for the body.  They also have been known to reduce the risk of lactose intolerance, pancreatic issues, and increase the digestive levels of an unhealthy gut.

A lot of other digestive enzyme products will only have 3 or 4 different enzymes, so the list above is quite impressive.

Digestive Enzymes Rating: A+

Probiotics

Probiotics are live strains of bacteria and yeast that add to the good bacteria already found in your digestive tract.  Prebiotics are plant fibers that assist in feeding the good bacteria which triggers their healthy growth, resulting in happy gut health.

The strains of probiotic in Alpha Enzymes are:

Lactobacillus plantarum (LP-115)

Lactobacillus bulgaricus (Lb-87)

Streptococcus thermophilus

Bifidobacterium longum (BI-05)

Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14)

Lactobacillus casei (Lc-11)

Lactobacillus salivarius (Ls-33)

Lactobacillus rhamnosus

Bifidobacterium lactis

Bifidobacterium bifidum (Bb-02)

This is a rather diverse list of Probiotic strains, all of which have their own unique properties and benefits. Some of these strains have been shown to do this by lessening the amount of bacterial infections found throughout the body like treating urinary tract infections, balancing intestinal flora and more. For now, we are going to focus on the main selling points of Alpha Enzymes so we can answer the important question, can this supplement do what it advertises? To do this we are going to investigate the science behind each claim.

The most impressive thing to note here is that I was able to find scientific studies backing up every single one of these ingredients. I actually think Alpha Enzymes is underselling their probiotic formula, because there are health benefits from these probiotics that they don’t even mention.  Some of them battle pretty bad infections, some of them reduce stress by helping your cortisol levels, and so on. You could probably fill a book if you tried to list all of the health benefits from this list of probiotics.

And it doesn’t even stop there. If this was a probiotic supplement, on it’s own it would be one of the best on the market. That’s because each capsule contains 5 billion CFU’s (colony forming units), which if you didn’t know, is the minimum recommended dose according to the CDC.

And to make it even better, these probiotics are all encased in a spore form delivery system, meaning they will not die when travelling through your stomach – unlike most other probiotics.

Probiotics Rating: A++

Prebiotics

Last but not least on our ingredient list is the prebiotics. This is the one that most people overlook, and it’s very often underestimated. Prebiotics are like superfood for the good bacteria living in your microbiome. If you want to feed and nourish the good bacteria and really give them a fighting chance against the bad bacteria that have taken over, you definitely need prebiotics.

The prebiotics in in Alpha Enzymes are:

Organic Blue Agave Heart (Agave Tequilana) (90% Inulin)

Organic Jerusalem Artichoke Root

That’s right, it’s just those two, but that’s not a bad thing. These are two very powerful probiotics that will set the stage for gut health improvement.  Both of these are foods with long (think thousands of years) histories of cultural significance as super health foods. It’s impressive that a supplement that also includes Prebiotics and Probiotics was thorough enough to include these, as it must have made manufacturing more expensive – but somehow the product itself is not more expensive.

Prebiotics Rating: A

Conclusion:

If I’m being honest, this is probably one of the most solid formulas I have studied in a very, very long time. The ingredients are all clinically proven and backed by decades of science, and the overall product is manufactured in a way that guarantees freshness and potency.

If you’re struggling with any of the issues mentioned at the beginning of this review (gas, bloating, depression, IBS, Crohn’s, mood swings, sluggishness, etc.) Then you definitely want to try this product out. It absolutely is going to help break them down so you can digest them easier, and that nourishes your gut, which improves your health.

You’ll probably see other health benefits too. For example, It turns out that fixing your gut health can even benefit your immune system. According to research, over 70% of your immune system resides in your gut. Creating a healthy environment in your gut by balancing your bacteria is crucial to immune system health.

IBS, Crohn’s Disease, and Candida Yeast Overgrowth are all extremely common disorders in the United States. Many of these symptoms can be very similar and can range from mild to extreme. These disorders can be very difficult to deal with, and millions of Americans struggle with these disorders, and because of the wide range of symptoms, they often go undiagnosed.

Food Sensitivity and General Bloating are common symptoms of an unhealthy gut and could be rectified by simply adding Alpha Enzymes to your diet.  Many of the probiotics found in Alpha Enzymes have great benefits by not only aiding the fight of diseases, but can also assist in reducing lactose intolerance, inflammation, and cholesterol levels.

Not only does the lack of natural digestive enzymes create issues with digestive disorders, but the body can also become sluggish resulting in many mental health disorders as well.  This can include mood swings, anxiety, and depression.  This occurs because the body is not properly breaking down the energy from food and circulating it throughout the body.  This can become detrimental to not only one’s mental health, but physical as well.  Once the body has assistance in digestion, and is correctly circulating food throughout the bloodstream, the body will become more active and produce endorphins which naturally improve one’s mental health.

As mentioned above, several of the ingredients offered in Alpha Enzymes also aid in general digestive, immune, and mental health, but there is one other reason that Alpha Enzymes excels at offering general health benefits.
